I think the following would make for an interesting element of a futuristic story:
MONOGAMY PROCEDURE:
process is permanent, not repeatable
works by integrating couples dna
brain chemistry match level ascertained and locked in
whites of eyes turn pale blue to show marital status
only aroused by spouse’s dna
causes and locks in sexual compatibility
dna will cause extremely painful. total body, permanent scarring of anyone else attempting sexual contact
non-spousal sperm cells destroyed
effects:
lower marriage rates
later marriages
extensive pre-marriage counseling
no divorce
